Mindfulness is a foundational and life-shifting approach to increasing joy and reducing stress and suffering. Research has supported its use in physical and mental health for over thirty years and its origins date back thousands. Simply defined, mindfulness is placing one's attention on the present moment experience, on purpose, and without judgement. It includes certain types of meditation and can also refer to a quality of being. Click here for details.
Emily feels fortunate to have been introduced to mindfulness practices as a young person and twice-fortunate to have rediscovered their benefits as an adult. She believes we are all constantly rediscovering mindfulness, and is fascinated by the gentle power of reconnecting to the present moment, each time. She has formally studied meditation and secular Buddhist teachings for seven years, is a graduate of The Interdependence Project's Meditation Teacher Training Program, and is a Certified Mindful Schools Instructor. She teaches mindfulness to all ages, and especially enjoys coaching teachers.
